Roaring with Pride

Feeling nauseous, on the taxi as it drove through the heavy traffic, with lots of swerving, we finally arrived at the indoor stadium, LATE. Rushing to the media centre, we brushed past some athletes which I wish I had time to interview, rushing to the games, there were many matches in action, but still there wasn’t much cheering though, which got me scratching my head. Settling in, the crowd began screaming and running wild, it was then it dawned on me, it was a Singaporean player, Isabelle Li who came out, against her Japanese counterpart, Tanioka. I wont say that the whole stadium was full and packed. But, given the fact it was just the preliminary round, it was a great turnout.

The game began with Singapore trailing 2-0, just as many began to lose hope, Singapore showed signs of resilience by winning the third set, as people thought that it was just a lucky break, and expected Japan to clinch the fourth set, but boy oh boy, how wrong were they, she showed signs of resilience, and fought back, it ended!
